After more than three years, Bachmann calls herself a "fairly new freshman"
That's her excuse for not passing anything of substance in her tenure there. There are more than a few howlers in this Q&A--especially her explanations of why there are so many foreclosures in her district, and how she's working with Democrats. Read it here:

1. This person must be defeated in November.
She is an exemplar of everything that is wrong with the Teabagger Parter.

3. Excellent point
I just donated at www.tarrylclark.com Which I do everytime MB says something. (I was going to write "says something stupid" but then realized adding the stupid was unnecessary.

14. Whoo-hoo! I've been waiting for a Democrat who will do this.
Take Bachmann's record and stick it to her with duct tape. Neither Patty Wetterling nor El Tinklenberg did this. That's all it will take.

5. Bachmann and Klobuchar seem similar to me
Edited on Mon Feb-15-10 02:06 PM by becxx
The big problem with Senator Cruella is that she is a corporatist. She's like the Republicans and simply has to go. When it came to health care reform, she threw crumbs to the masses and spent her time kissing up to big money.

Our senator seems to have sold out. If you look at her campaign contributions, you see that he/she who pays the piper calls the tune. 2012 can't come soon enough for me.

The big difference between Bachmann and Klobuchar is that Bachmann manages to seem a little nuts at times. LOL

6. While I'm no fan of Klobuchar I really wouldn't compare her to Bachmann
Amy-kins is more of a moderate Republican and she is not bat-shit crazy. The biggest difference between them is the Klobuchar sold out her base and Bachmann caters to hers.

7. Nope, bad comparision
They are not even remotely on the same level. Amy is moderate, down to earth, and sane. She listens to both sides and deeply explores issues. Michelle is only made up of attack points, only goes after a small narrow subset of the population and comes off a more than just a little bit nuts.

Amy is a good representative of the state, Michelle is a poor representative for the 6th CD.

8. Klobuchar represents her big contributors not most of us
Edited on Mon Feb-15-10 11:19 PM by becxx
Sorry, I have to disagree. Amy represents her big contributors and sold the rest of us out on health care reform. Our Senator Do-Nothing-for-the-Majority has done nothing of benefit to most of us on the two big issues of the day: jobs and health care. She spends her time doing inconsequential feel good stuff with which no one could disagree. Meanwhile she callously twiddles her thumbs while thousands of Minnesota are losing their health insurance, their jobs, their homes and even a means to acquire adequate food. If you think she is a good representative of our state, then we have very different values. I have to say I know others with those values and they are all Republicans. Bachmann is phony, cold and callous. Amy is phony, cold and callous.

9. On Health Care
Klobuchar has tried to move forward policies similar to what passed the house. The Senate GOPers are the major factor that the Health Care bill is being delayed. Bachmann wants to keep what we have and actually praises the system

No single Congressmember is a magic bullet on jobs. Amy I expect is behind the Obama-supported plan working its way through Congress, though snow delayed with the blizzards out there. Bachmann has been against even extending unemployment in the 6th CD.

Amy will continue to get my vote in 2012, Bachmann will never get my vote.

10. Klobuchar's office says she does not support public option
When I have called Klobuchar's office numerous times, her staff always say she does not support the public option. That is hardly supporting Obama's plan. I still think there is very little difference between Bachmann and Amy. Actually, Bachmann is probably more honest.

13. I have never gotten a straight answer from her on what her health care position is.
Edited on Tue Feb-16-10 01:17 PM by dflprincess
Though, her office sends out one of the best written non-response responses I've ever read.

Obama no longer pretends to support a public option either - so Amy actually does go along with his position. I'm sure it's safe to assume that they will both do what is best for United Health Group.

11. These two sentences sum up..
... my opinion of Klobuchar quite nicely:

"She spends her time doing inconsequential feel good stuff with which no one could disagree. Meanwhile she callously twiddles her thumbs while thousands of Minnesota are losing their health insurance, their jobs, their homes and even a means to acquire adequate food."

I'll take a Senator Al over a Senator Amy every time. I absolutely detest Republican Lite DINOs, of which, Klobuchar is close to being. If you want to be Repub, fine, be a real one, but in the meantime, get the hell out of the Democratic Party.

12. And she's signed on to Social Security "reform"
(and when Blue Dogs like Klobuchar talk about reform you should be very afraid)

I wonder what she'll do with her good pal Bayh out of the Senate?
