Pawlenty Dictates End Game

Read peoples' comments. If Timmy can do this, so can Obama.

Double standards, anyone?

Oh, has Tim done a thing about jobs for Minnesotans, which in turn axes these goddamn deficits in the first place?

1. I wonder what it is about the local newspapers that the wing nuts
are driven to post comments.

You read what's posted over there and you don't have to wonder how someone like Bachmann gets elected. :scared:

2. Which in turn makes me unsympathetic to the plight of the printed media industry...
Content has turned to drivel over the years, and even the designs and layout are made with lower quality equipment. It's not worth 1/10th the price, and then to read those nitwits... I don't want to buy into that garbage.

3. We have no newspaper here in MN anymore that is worth reading.
I am sick to my stomach about Bachman holding up the light rail to St. Cloud. It would pay for itself if it ran up there with the students and all the people using it to commute as they do by car right now. She and Tim are jerks. They both need to get out.

4. She has nothing to do with St Cloud; I'm surprised she has clout. How'd she get to hold it up??
Given she's such a pillar to the "community", why can't she be a pillar and hold up the rail in a literal sense? She's cheaper than concrete and is twice as dense...

5. Isn't St. Cloud in her District? I thought it was. Or at least part of the rail-line
goes through her District on the way to St. Cloud. St. Cloud is the fastest growing City in MN. and I barely recognize it from 10 yrs. ago. She wants the MnDot Projects to go ahead and in my opinion, Mn Dot to me has always been associated with Oil/Gas Companies and Republicans. I equate them with the Chamber of Commerce actually. I could be way off but that is my observation. I do know that some heads of MnDot have been politically connected to the Republican Party or their interests.

6. Eastern MN is, but I didn't know her district went all the way up there...

7. You mean "over there". hehe. Yup. Just checked and she has St. Cloud all the way
over to Stillwater. That is a lot of people. Stillwater has grown into an area where pretty much only wealthier people live as compared to years ago when that was not the case. St. Cloud has had an incredible "medical" boom. Big Pharma is everywhere as well as instruments for hospitals, etc.... Her husband is a shrink or counselor with a belief in transforming homosexuals into straights. I think the connection is in the medical field, businesses (Chamber in St. Cloud is Republican focused) and taking advantage of students at St. Cloud State who do not know better.

11. Quit blaming Stillwater for Bachmann's election
Stillwater voted AGAINST Bachmann in both congressional elections she's been in. Bachmann's own precinct voted against her. In Fact, all of Washington County rejected Bachmann in 2008. And Stillwater is hardly "pretty much only wealthier people." You need to get out more Glinda.

12. I didn't blame Stillwater. I was just speaking of the change in the economy in that area.
I would guess that she has had a major money behind her which has come from all over so it isn't where the votes totally are but by what financing. I like Stillwater and surrounding areas and if I could afford to live nearby might very well. My husband and I have been seeking a home on the eastern edge of the State over a two year time and have spent a great deal of time talking to folks out that way. And yes, I was born in inner City Mpls. Lived way up North, travel southern MN. as well as currently live Mid-MN and venture to the eastern Border into WI. I think I get out a bit.

8. There's a lot of wing nuts in the areas of Sterns and Benton counties
that she represents. And a lot of German Catholics who care only about "the babies". I haven't been up that way for several years but there used to be a lot of prolife billboards along Hwy 10 and I recall one cemetary with a very prominent headstone facing the road that says "In memory of the unborn" (or something like that) on it... I've always wondered, how can you remember someone or something that never was?

9. Wing-nuts in Morrison County also. Yes, I have seen that sign and there is also a
Catholic Church that has a billboard on their front lawn about pro-life as well as a wooden cross which they drape fabric over. My guess is that some of these areas are getting more Democratic but there are people hell bent on condemning anyone who disagrees with them. The Morrison County Record newspaper is Republican totally and frequently attacks Pr-Choice as well as other things such as MPR, etc.... The local Chamber of Commerce in Little Falls has meetings for Pro-Life.

10. Yes, Eastern MN "area" is fast growing but the largest City expansion and out-lying
growth area of the State is in the St. Cloud area all way down the corridor through Big Lake, etc.... The main driver is the need to access to medical for the upper half of the State as well as the middle portion. Waite Park reminds me of Roseville.

13. Maybe Bachmann is opposed to extending the North Star line to St. Cloud
because she's worried it might draw more "socialists" into her district.
