Sunday Strib poses The Fox Question on front page (re senate election)
On the front page of the Sunday Strib:

Is Another Election the Answer?

http://www.startribune.com/politics/state/40901272.html?elr=KArksLckD8EQDUoaEyqyP4O:DW3ckUiD3aPc:_Yyc:aUUT

The answer to the GOP's prayers, perhaps, but that's about it. State law makes absolutely no provision for a do-over. Careful reading of the article makes it clear that Norm's only path to a revote would be to tie the matter up in court for so long that a desperate MN legislature might draft and pass a new law calling for a re-vote just to finally restore Minnesota's full representation in the Senate.

And what are the chances of that happening?

"About the same chance as me winning the lottery," said David Schultz, a professor at Hamline University who specializes in election law.

So why the misleading headline? Why do they want to give casual readers the impression that a re-vote might be in the wind?

We've been seeing this sort of slant to the news ever since the Strib was purchased by an investment firm. I've been closely following the news on Norm's court challenge for six weeks. Over and over again, the Strib prominently features talking points issued by the Coleman team, while downplaying the cold, hard facts. I think this newspaper is working to actually influence the course of events, rather than merely report them.

1. It has been truly sad seeing the Strib fall from being a decent center-left newspaper...
to the hollow pro-corporate rag it now is.

2. Agreed
Agreed. I've read the Strib for many, many years now. I usually renew my subscription yearly (due in March). This year I'm going to let my subscription expire, and will shed no tears. The Strib used to be a reliable left-of-center paper but now. . . A weeks glance at the editorial pages is too much to take. So, I'll say good by to the daily Strib and also gladly say good by to George will, David Brooks, Jonah Goldberg, Deb Saunders, Cliff May and the rest of the Right Wing tools they print on this rag.

6. No. No MN rules for it. Normie is going to go but not quietly. He is going to inflict
pain and suffering not only on Mn. but on the Country because he is now being revealed as to what he truly is.... a low end mobster.
