Kennedy and his continuing attacks on Wetterling

I just saw his latest attack ad this weekend. Supposedly in their debate Wetterling said something about the war on terror being fought here at home. And so he spins this, naturally, as meaning that Patty wants to fight terrorists here and Kennedy wants to fight them "over there."

Now I'll take a real wild guess and assume that Kennedy is taking a Wetterling quote COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTEXT. On the one hand, I'm glad that Screech is so incredibly desperate that THIS is all he has left. But on the other hand, it absolutely infuriates me that a campaign can run an ad like that with such a blatant lie! Watching * go down next Tuesday night will be the crown jewels, but I will take special delight when Wetterling smacks down Screech once and for all - potentially killing his 2006 Senate bid in the process! Ha ha!

3. Yes, the terrorists are coming!

The terrorists don't exactly want to send an army here to take over our land. He's trying to make it sound like the spread of Communism or Nazi-ism, and he's putting out an outdated mindset which shows a fundamental lack of understanding for the enemy. It sounds like Mark Kennedy is the one with the pre-9/11 mentality.

4. I believe the context

had to do with taking care of our kids, putting our kids first, being a model country in terms of caring for kids and others, that beating terrorists also meant cleaning up how we treat others here at home.

5. That sounds a lot more like something Wetterling would say.

Fighting the war on terrorism at home also means better inspections of incoming containers, etc. But of course that's all lost on Screech, because according to him Patty wants us all to do hand-to-hand combat as terrorists invade our shores!

6. Anyone see the John Walsh ad?

Paraphrase: "My name is John Walsh and I'm a Republican who is supporting Patty Wetterling." He goes on to state how he knows her and knows she has what it takes to go to congress, etc. etc. Good ad.

Completely neutralizes all of Kennedy's attacks. Hasn't stopped him from trying, though.
