Went to the State Fair this evening, checked out the political booths:

First the Republicans:

Not much action. You could just about see the tumbleweeds rolling through the middle of their booth, and hear the crickets chirping. Most of the few people who were there were at least as old as McCain.

Then the DFL booth:

Lots of people milling around buying t-shirts and buttons. Mayor Ryback was there as well. I discovered that under new fair rules they can't sell bumper stickers (no adhesive items) or lawn signs (no pointed sticks). That was disappointing.

Finally, Al Franken's booth. Al himself was there, and there was a long line of people waiting to get their pictures taken with him.

Nobody seemed interested in Patricia Lord Faris' booth -- or Norm Coleman's, either.

2. Is Normie's booth the fake "cabin" again?
Met Al at the fair last year - he was great. Hope to see him again this year! Thanks for the pics!

6. On my way to the fair now
Is Al there again today? I wont make him take a picture with me if there's too many people waiting but I'd love to just get to see him.

Coleman's booth had a little action when I was there but nothing like Franken's.
Al's daughter was there when we were there yesterday.

9. Was on the Star Tribune's website, and tried to link to Al Franken's
website and it wouldn't let me, Normie's came up just fine, but could not get into Al's. Have written to the Tribune and mentioned something about diebold voting machines that wouldn't let someone vote for Kerry back in the day..... wonder if I'll get a response back.

10. Probably not
I wrote to them and asked why John Edwards' affair was front page news (plus serveral follow up articles) but I'd never seen them print a word about Normie's problems along those lines and I never heard back. (I also asked why I'd seen nothing about Cheney trying to provoke an incident with Iran or anything about Suskind's book).

11. I have linked to Al's website
in the past with no problems. Someone claimed Al wasn't talking about the issues. I proved them wrong and got uprated for it.
