PRINCETON, Minn. - Rep. Mark Olson has the endorsement of the Republican Party in his bid to replace a GOP state Sen. Betsy Wergin.

It's a turnaround for the party. Olson was permanently expelled from the House Republican Caucus last summer following his conviction on domestic assault charges.

He has represented his Big Lake district for 16 years, but Republicans gave their endorsement to former Secretary of State Mary Kiffmeyer in that seat in November.

Olson considered running for re-election as an independent, then set his sights on the special election to replace Wergin.

On Thursday, Olson won the endorsement against Big Lake Republican activist Alison Krueger on the second ballot.

4. That Won't Work

His wife has forgiven him and so have the people in his district.

The best way to unseat Mark Olson is to write letters to the editors asking for an investigative article about PRT, the transportation boondoggle Rep. Mark Olson has been promoting for years. Bachmann also promoted PRT and co-authored legislation for it in 2004.

PRT is phony.

Rep. Mark Olson was all over the media four years ago promoting PRT.

He introduced bills that would have funded a PRT testing facility with millions of taxpayers dollars.

PRT is an infeasible Nixon-era concept that has wasted many millions of dollars. That PRT facility would have been a waste. Nine years ago, a similar testing facility built by Raytheon for the Chicago RTA sucked down $67 million in public and private investment with nothing to show for it.

Olson tried to scam taxpayers with PRT and now he won't talk about it.

Write letters to the Saint Cloud Times asking them to investigate Olson's claims about PRT.

I did see him in the skyway in Downtown Minneapolis this spring and I pointed at him and loudly said,

"Hey, arent you the republican congressman that is such a good christian he beats his wife?"

He was very embarrassed and ran away red faced... We need to keep that up.

I however, do not live in his district.

Please write letters to newspapers asking them to look into Rep. Mark Olson's career as a PRT promoter.

Reporters need to ask Olson (and Bachmann) to explain why he promoted PRT... does he still think Minnesota's taxpayers should fund millions of dollars of PRT research and development?
