Just thought maybe some of us would like to meet up with other DUers and attend the rally tomorrow together.

Just a thought, what are your thoughts on this idea?

30. I made it out....
A friend of mine got off work at 6 and we went for it, not knowing if we would get in. We went to the Irish pub at the corner; I kept my eyes open for and DU stuff but no luck.

We made it in and a few minutes Obama came out. It is great, lots of red "blue?" meat tossed out to supporters. Some of the best stuff I have heard. If you did not see the speech YouTube it!

The media cut out a lot of important stuff. Standing ovation for Hillary and the values she fought for this whole campaign. Cheers and respect for John McCain's service to the country.

There were a few people out side with signs that read “A vote for Obama is a vote for Islam” and garbage like that. They got heckled by the crowd but everyone was pretty respectful.

3. I'm going with some people from work --
one of them lives near the cathedral so we'll walk downtown from his house. But let me know where the rest of you will be and maybe we can converge.

I would love to meet you and walk down there with you. God knows it will be easier than driving or taking the bus.

4. What time to get there?
I know I'm going with some friends of mine from school, but I'm wondering what time we'll need to get there to get in. I'd imagine that it's going to fill up pretty fast - when are you guys planning on getting there?

6. How much is plenty?
My friends and I were talking about heading there as soon as school got out (3:00), so we'd get there at 4:00. That would be enough, wouldn't it? I mean, he's a popular guy, but he can't be THAT popular!

7. 4:00 should do it.
Doubt I'll be able to get there that soon myself. I'm sure it will be packed; the arena holds more than 18,000 people.

17. Anyone want to meet up at the Liffy?
I'm going by bus, so it will take me a while to get there. I'll probably be in St Paul by 5pm. The friends I had planned to go with haven't gotten back to me yet.

28. Wow.
I never made it to the rally -- got together at the home of a co-worker who lives near downtown, we were planning on walking from there, but by that time (just before 6:00) we realized there was no way in hell we'd be able to get in. Driving through downtown St. Paul was just about impossible and there were helicopters everywhere, people all over the place. So we stayed in, had some drinks and brats and watched it all on the teevee. It was spectacular anyhow. Heard there were nearly 20,000 people in the building and almost as many outside, listening. Quite an event. I'd like to hear from somebody who actually got inside. Jason?

29. I was inside
The excitement there was palpable - you probably could have cut it with a knife, if they had let you bring one inside ;). I couldn't believe how fired up everyone was, people were just so excited to be there. I had trouble hearing all of the speech, in between the cheering and the light fixture blocking the subtitles on the screen, but I knew when to cheer because the people that could hear it were cheering loud enough to let us all know. It was an experience I will not soon forget.

31. As you already know...
I did not get inside. I was in that awfully long line, but never made it inside. I am very disappointed by that. I am however ecstatic that he is now the nominee.
