CODEPINK wants you to join the party at The Local Irish Pub on Friday, June 6 to meet other fabulous women and brainstorm ideas for a powerful pink presence at the RNC. The National Conference for Media Reform (NCMR) is in town that weekend and CODEPINK co-founder Medea Benjamin is one of the featured speakers.
The NCMR features dozens of nationally prominent activists and media personalities, and requires a registration fee. (See link below for full details) But CODEPINK is organizing a gathering for conference participants and MN CODEPINK folks on Friday night.
Lively Conversation, Tasty Appetizers & Drinks June 6, 7-9 pm at The Local Irish Pub 931 Nicollet Mall (corner of Nicollet and 10th St, downtown Mpls) no-host bar, delicious food (great vegetarian options too!)
Medea Benjamin has distinguished herself as an eloquent and energetic figure in the national social justice movement. She recently returned from Jordan where she met with dozens of Iraqi refugees. Medea will be joined by two other fabulous women - Dana Balicki, national media coordinator for CODEPINK, and Desiree Fairooz who runs the CODEPINK house in DC and famously confronted Condoleeza Rice with "bloody hands" during a congressional hearing. Local activists will also be on hand to give the latest updates on RNC protest planning.
