Movie "Iron Man" + Alliant Tech Cluster Bomb & 5/24 fundraiser
I just saw the movie "Iron Man" with Robert Downey Jr.. The character is a genius, designs War Weapons and owns the War Profit company. They sell to the US military and also other countries, and end up getting in the hands of war lords in Afghanistan who used them against US troops and Afghan Civilians. It really shows war profiteering. It was a trip to watch this movie.

*** I couldn't believe how weapons were similar to MN company Alliant Tech that just moved to Eden Prairie.

It is even more ironic because on Saturday we are having a fundraiser.. Walk Against Weapons.. and walking 5 miles from the old headquarters in Edina to new headquarters in Eden Prairie. not too far from 950am.

And on Monday in Dublin, Ireland many countries are signing a treaty banning cluster bombs.. except the US.
Here is the info of the global treaty in Dublin, (I got it off the National Vets for Peace site)
http://www.fcnl.org/weapons/may12_call.htm

I hope you can join us or donate to help us educations others of cluster bomb's horrific destruction.
Here is the info on WAMM's website, that includes why, where, when, and the map.

Unexploded cluster bombs kill in horrible ways: children play with bomblets thinking they're toys, and farmers stumble across them tending their fields. During the last 40 years, the best research indicates that 98 percent of cluster bomb casualties have been civilians, including 12,000 civilian casualties in Laos and another 4,000 in Iraq. Cluster bombs just don't know when the war has ended.

** and if anyone can get this to Robert Downey jr, or Jon Favreau, the producer of Iron Man **
Maybe they would like to donate to our Walk or come join us.

I was unable to go but heard that those who sat at the water station got lots of honks, and peace signs for motorists. Several stopped to offer donations. The cops who escorted the group were friendly.
Way to go Western Suburbs!.
