Hello fellow delegates! I'm one of five Kucinich delegate from SD60.
Anybody interested in meeting up on Saturday, before the big Dayton bash? I haven't been to state since 1990, but the previous Dayton bashes I've attended have been quite a good time!

Ummm I'm embarrassed to say I don't know anything about the Dayton bash. Is it the Sat of the convention?

2. Yup, Saturday night

I haven't actually been to one since 1988 myself (I don't recall one in 1990), but they're usually a lot of fun-- especially since Mark foots the ENTIRE bill himself, including food, entertainment, etc.

Oh, and if you're a Kuch delegate, you're more than welcome to come to our Tuesday nite meetings at the Lao Family Center in St. Paul, too. We're doing candidate screenings and some other stuff, too, and you're certainly more than welcome to come.

7. Dayton "bash" is at the Depot, Saturday at 7pm

Yes, that's the Saturday of the Convention, May 22. The info is from the "Tentative State Convention Schedule" that I received in the mail from the state DFL.

I would assume that all delegates and alternates have been sent the same mailing, it includes your registration form -- with instructions on how to register online, which is what I did.

You can also go to http://www.dfl.org/ and click on the 2004 DFL State Convention icon (on the right) for more information.

Let's make sure we DUers meet up at the convention!

3. I'll be there.

I'm one of 4 Kucinich delegates from Pine County. Keep me posted about where and when to meet. I've never been to the Duluth Convention Center, so I have no idea of the layout. I haven't made my hotel reservation yet, either. Is the Dayton bash at one of the hotels? It would be nice to know, then I'd try for a reservation at that hotel specifically.

5. Hey scarlet!

We're still doing our weekly meetings in the metro area until further notice. We're putting on a candidate forum soon, to pick and choose progressive candidates to support.

I also heard that the two big hotels in Duluth are already booked up (WTF???). However, somebody in the TC area was working on a list of hotels in Superior, WI, across the bay.

I think that somebody was also going to post it to the MN4DK list-serv, too, so that may be a place to check.

I've also heard talk of a meeting on Sat Morning before everything convenes for state DK delegates-- probably in the lobby of the Holiday Inn. Unfortunately I don't know the exact date/time yet.

Also, apparently there's a union boycott of some of the motels down by the waterfront area because they're blocking union organizing-- just an FYI in case you're booking rooms.

Thankfully, my wife's best friend lives in Duluth, so we're going to make a mini-vacation of it. I hope all the snow has melted up there by then.

6. Hi NNNS (hope you don't mind the abbreviation)!

I just registered for the Convention online this morning, and AFAIK, I have a room booked at the Radisson for the weekend. Since the two hotels listed on the registration form supposedly have blocks of rooms set aside for the convention, it doesn't seem likely that they're full up -- maybe people are calling and not identifying themselves as State Convention attendees?

I sure don't want to violate a union boycott, though. I'm wondering where one can find out exactly which hotels/motels are involved.

I booked at the Radisson, because it was slightly cheaper -- hope I don't miss out on any action by not being at the Holiday! I'll be checking in on Friday, the official ("tentative") schedule says that there's a "New Delegate/Alternate Orientation" at 8pm Friday night. I'm thinking that this might be a good way to hook up with other DK delegates, since I bet that alot of them are "new".

Since registration opens at the DECC at 8am on Saturday, maybe meeting at the DECC in the morning, instead of at a hotel might be easier? Just a thought. :shrug:

I thought more DUers would have checked into this thread by now, I KNOW there's more of us that are delegates -- one way or another, I hope we can set up a DU meeting that weekend... At least let's make sure you and I meet up at some point!
