Senate rules means GOP will bring up anti-gay marriage ammendment 8 times
Yes, you read that correctly. Due to state senate rules on wording, there are EIGHT different versions with slight word tweaks that will be pushed in committee to try to get this abomination of a bill through.

http://www.startribune.com/587/story/340073.html

"Republicans in the state Senate have introduced at least eight separate constitutional amendments to prohibit same-sex marriage in recent weeks. The wording is only slightly different in each bill.

An old Senate rule prohibits a second vote on the same measure.

Republicans in the DFL-controlled Senate say that makes introducing multiple bills necessary to keep the issue from dropping off the radar screen.

But DFL'ers say the tactic shows that Republicans are growing desperate in the face of declining public support for the marriage amendment."

1. This is what the GOP calls good governing?
I hope the DFL makes a HUGE issue out of this travesty of the legislative process (but I'm not holding my breath). And let's get their fearless leader Timmy on record as to what he thinks of this tactic. And Dick Day, who said after the Dean Johnson episode that they ought to move on and get their work done.

We all saw how the voters LOVED the legislative shut-down. Maybe the GOP can scuttle the bonding bill this year when they gum up the works with their hateful discrimination measures.
