Nightline Tuesday - Story about Wisconsin Soldier killed in Iraq
Edited on Mon Oct-17-05 03:07 PM by Oreo
You may remember a while back that a Wisconsin family found out the details of their son's death from a story in the Washington Post. He died after an IED blew up under his HUMVEE. The story is tragic and more than likely not rare. Does anybody have a link to the article?

This will be really important for everybody to watch. The show was originally supposed to air the week Katrina hit. Unless something happens between now and Tuesday (re: indictments) the show will be on Tuesday night. Please spread the word!

Here is an e-mail from a friend:
As many of you know, (my youngest sister) was dating Mark Maida (a long-time family friend) for many months before he was deployed to Iraq.
Sadly, Mark was killed at the end of May by an IED (improvised explosive device). Mark's experience and story has really opened my eyes about many issues of which I was minimally aware (the current stop-loss, the Army's poor communications with soldiers' family members, fighting under conditions for which soldiers were not trained, etc...). ABC interviewed the Maida family --they believe the story will be on Nightline tomorrow (Tuesday). Additionally, small "teasers" will be on Good Morning America and World News Tonight. Please spread the word.
