5. Yeah, especially since it was karl Rove who picked Coleman
and Pawlenty for their respective current jobs even though - so I read - each wanted the other's.

10. "not open to the public" - what a surprise..
Cheney heads fundraiser, but it's not open to public

Vice President Dick Cheney is coming to Minnesota on Friday to raise money for the Senate campaign of Rep. Mark Kennedy, R-Minn. The event will take place at the Wayzata home of former state GOP chairman Bill Cooper and will not be open to the public. Couples paying $4,200 can get their picture taken with Cheney and admission to the reception; luncheon-only tickets cost $1,000 a person. Kennedy faces no major opposition in the Republican primary to replace U.S. Sen. Mark Dayton, D-Minn., who is not seeking reelection. "Congressman Kennedy has been an important member of the House, and we look forward to working with him in the Senate," said Jennifer Mayfield, a Cheney spokeswoman.

11. $1,000 a person, $4,200 per couple!!!
What a joke. I wish Dean would come to Minnesota to help raise funds. I would give no more then $100 I dont think but that is what I could afford. Not $1,000.

I also heard about the Pawlenty, Coleman flip.

14. From the airport to Wayzata I'm thinking 169 & 394 might be the route...
& depending on time I'm up for it. (how do we actually find the time of his coming when it's not listed on the news sites?)

Anyone know of any good overpasses on those freeways?

15. I don't know the roads out that way
I'm going to stay up late tomorrow night and get a sign or two out so they will greet the morning commuters.

16. If I recall correctly, Cooper's home is lakefront property..
...on Wayzata Bay or the next one to the west (can't for the life of me recall the name.

which you'd think would mean you could run some signs past via kayak, canoe, pontoon or runabout...

ah....they'll probably have a fleet of secret service types on the water anyway....

somehow somebody's got to deliver some sweet messages to Uncle Dick, though...

17. Maybe a little guerilla theater
When the Bushboy came to Portland a couple of years ago to speak at a $25,000 a plate dinner for the Oregon Republican Party, a couple of enterprising teens dressed up like street youth and went to one of the local spare changing hot spots to ask passersby, "Excuse me, do you have a spare $25,000? I want to have dinner with Bush."

Maybe the last overpass before Wayzata on 394 would be a good spot to post a banner that says something like "Meet Cheney--only $1000/person"

Whether he sees it or not, it exposes him for the elitist swine he is. More working class people than you might think live out on Lake Minnetonka, and a reminder that he's not in any sense "a man of the people" might be helpful.
