Campaign to recall Michigan Governor Rick Snyder passes 50% of required signatures
Since the beginning of July, the extremely grassroots campaign to recall Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, FireRickSnyder.org, has gathered more than half of the 806,522 signatures required to trigger a recall election in February 2012.

Every single signature has been gathered by a volunteer. All 83 county captains are volunteers. Their website is built and maintained by volunteers. The founders of the organization, who are also volunteers, have no political experience and simply met each other online in March. Almost all of them have jobs and are doing this in their spare time.

But they are pushing through anyway, and the recall election might actually happen.

Due to the floating 90-day window for submitting recall petition signatures in Michigan, the best bet for Fire Rick Snyder will probably be to gather at least 400,000 more signatures by the end of September. In order to pull that off, they are going to need more volunteers to help gather signatures.

This is exactly why Daily Kos is joining with a large online coalition to sign up a couple thousand more volunteers before Labor Day weekend. If you live in Michigan, please sign up with Daily Kos and Democracy for America to help collect recall petition signatures. We will get your information to the volunteers in your area as quickly as we can.

2. I'm sure they got thousands more today in Detroit.
Lots of volunteers working the line to get in to see POTUS and lots of people signing.
