We're flooded here in B.C. Everyone else okay?
The city drainage pond flooded, and our yard's under about 7" of water. Then, the city sewer backed up into our washing machine and basement, so we have almost 2" of water throughout the basement--and the rain's not done yet tonight.

Everyone else along 94 okay? We're getting hammered here in Calhoun County.

1. Lots of rain and storms here in Jackson .. I work in Ann Arbor
Lots of power outage north of I-94. We were sent home from work at 8:45pm ... no power.
No flooding that I can see here. Still pouring though.

2. Do you have power this morning?
Apparently, we were really lucky not to lose power last night. Most people around us did.

The backyard waters are receeding today. The high water mark on the backyard neighbor's fence is several feet high. The good news, though, is that the city guys came around last night and were baffled at what happened with the sewer backing up into all of our houses, so they're going to fix everything and pay for it.

8. we have power here at home. Not sure about work. I'll call
there later. I don't start till 3pm so I'm thinking it will probably be ok by then. I'm glad the sewer cost won't be your responsibility!!! Hope you get it all fixed up quickly.

We're waiting for them so I can go to urgent care and get my arm x-rayed. *sigh*

15. I slipped and fell in our garage last night.
I hit my left arm hard, and I apparently broke the radius head. I'm back and in a tight sling, and they told me no knitting for six weeks. I'm already feeling a bit crazy--how the hell am I supposed to make it six weeks?!

16. OH that really is too bad. I hope
you're not in too much pain and that you have a good pain med if you need it.

I guess you could get in some good reading. :)

I wish I could knit! My grandmother, mother and aunts were all knitters of beautiful things.

rest that arm.

17. Nope. No drugs.
I inherited a lovely gene from my dad that makes narcotics not work on me. I get all the side effects and no pain relief. So, I get ibuprofen and deep breathing. This pain's more annoying than anything--waking up from me kidney surgery almost 2 yrs ago was far, far worse.

18. oh my. To the kidney surgery / pain I think I can relate
I had a tumor removed from the wall of my bladder. WORST pain ever! Thankfully, the tumor was benign. The pain was horrid.

I'm glad you're managing somewhat.

Hopefully you're also recovering ok from the storms of last night!

4. So, you guys didn't get that bad rain?
I just heard that 94 was flooded here and re-routed for awhile, not to mention several of the Creek's main roads for several hours last night.

I thought you guys got all the bad rain, too. Did it just drain better there?

5. We had a lot of rain, but I've seen worse in the last couple of months
Drainage is pretty good where I live (Huntington Woods, near Royal Oak).

6. Oh, good.
Yeah, we watched the water rise last night as it was an hour-long cloudburst. It got within a foot of our basement windows, so we were lucky that it wasn't worse.

7. Glad everything seems to be okay today.
We had more noise from the thunder than we had rain. It started out as a fairly normal, steady rain and then intensified for just a while before it settled back down again.

14. I wish I was psychic! I'd have made p lans to go to Ontario
for a couple of days to see my granddaughter :( We had lots to do this weekend and this extra day off would have made it easier to scoot up there and come back early saturday or even friday night. Of course .. by the time work informed us not to show up, it was too late to start out on a 5.5 hour journey.

ah well.

It will be nice to have a 4 day wknd.

19. Many trees and branches down here in Ann Arbor
We got about an inch of rain but no flooding; it doesn't flood here much. I never lost power but friends on the west side did.

Basically, though, everything and everyone is all right. Good news.

The road (I-94) was fine, but I noticed a lot of standing water on the farmlands I passed.
