Ch 7 news just showed a swarm of bees in a tree ... in Kalamazoo.
What's wrong with this story?

I have yet to see my first honeybee of the season. The lilacs bloomed last month. No bees.

The white clover in my ChemLawn-free backyard has been in full flower for a week now. Still no bees.

It wasn't like this ever before in the 35 years I've lived in this home. Ever.

1. I heard about that on the CBS evening news beefore
Katie was talking about how perfessional bee keepers were lose entire flocks of bees and no one knows where they are going. Personally I have seen quite a few bees buzzing around my zuchini plants and my neighbors tomato plans, although I live in downtown Kalamazoo so may bee I live close enough to that tree to bee seeing those bees.

P.S. I think global warming is causing it. There is probably some little niche about a bee's environment that is no longer being met by the slight changes in climate.

seriously.... later

3. We've had many here in B.C.
We've have had several species, too. My flowers have been buzzing. I wonder if there's a big hive nearby.
