some local TV pundit said that the political landscape in Massachusetts was getting more diverse. His point: 3 Italian guys in 3 important seats : DiMasi, Menino, and Travaglini.

6. At least the city councils are more diverse

Boston, Cambridge, Lowell, Lynn, etc. Some of the state reps and state senators are minorities and women, but the power mongers are still Irish and Italian.

8. Hey, the Italians are pretty new to the positions of power.
Used to be just the Irish guys. To them, the addition of the Italians IS diversity! :rofl:
