1. I know someone who graduated from Andover Newton last year.
She had been going to school part-time for years, as she'd been a single mother (until she married the minister of my church). They both lived at the school for several years, until she finished, and he took some further courses there as well toward another advanced degree. I also met a man from Japan who went there; he was a minister in Japan, and had to take courses here (I think to get ordained here, I'm not sure). They're all really nice people. My minister and his wife are quite progressive (politically). IIRC, she said that many of the students there are women in their forties.

Newton Centre is quite nice; I worked there for the past couple of years. It's a pricey area. Newton tends to be politically liberal. What else do you want to know--I'll try to answer.

3. Newton has Whole Foods Markets, Trader Joes, and farmer's markets
Newton is a very nice community, but it is very expensive. Are you planning on renting or buying?

5. Yes, there's definitely good mass transit there.
There's a green line T station right in Newton Centre, from which you can go directly into Boston. A year or two ago, Newton was named the safest city to live in (I think in the state).

Feel free to pm me your email address; I'll see what I can find out.

7. Thanks, Kathy. I couldn't remember if it was in MA or in the US.
That's pretty cool. Though Newton is more suburban-like, although it's technically a city.
