2. i met him a couple of weekends ago ...
he held a meeting at a bakery in Natick the day after the Dem State convention ...

he spent a huge amount of time talking about gang violence ...

during his Q&A session, i was able to ask him what role he thought drugs played in the "gang" issue and whether he thought the current war on drugs was helping, or hurting, the situation ...

he didn't do a great job answering my question but i did agree with the points he made ... the focus of his response was that mandatory sentencing is a terrible idea ...

i really don't know much about his opponent(s) ... i'll probably vote for Barrios ... it was clear to me he has a long-range view on the AG's office and probably wants to be Governor some day ...

5. Jarrett addressed a Rep. Jim McGovern fundraiser in Worcester tonight.
What does it mean when an out-of-area candidate is allowed to speak at a Representatives's event? Jim is supporting Jarrett?

6. Fiesta
If I remember hearing it was a Latino "flavored" event. Rep. McGovern has always been very supportive of his Latino constituency. I imagine Jarrett in his role as Massachusetts' highest ranking Latino politician would hold a role here.

I'm a Festa supporter for DA. But I got no quarrel with Sen. Barrios.

8. mike's a great guy
fierce liberal/progressive (much more that I am) I'm saying this as a compliment.
Great character
Great family man
Good listener
Hard Worker.
Honest.
Took a lot of heat for being vocally pro-gay marriage and didn't back down.

Was anti-finneran so he didn't make much hay there for a time.

Comes from a small city and doesn't have Jarret's big money connections. Is also a good friend of Jarret's.

I think he'd be a great DA. I guess we should be happy to have so many good candidates for office in Massachusetts.
