Now with Vickie Kennedy out, who can beat Brown?
With Obama up for re-election, I would think that Dems will be out in force in 2012. All the Dems need is a strong candidate. Me thinks the Governor is the one.

1. But then who would run for Governor?
Edited on Thu Jan-13-11 02:04 PM by Ian David
I think Barney Frank should run against Scott Brown.

We also need someone to run a primaries against Geraldine Creedon and Stephen Lynch.

I'd like to see Barney Frank run against either Brown or Lynch.

I'd also like to see Jass Stewart run against Geraldine Creedon.

2. Frank is not about to become a freshman Senator with all the
seniority of his House seat.

Capuano, (definitely NOT Lynch)...

our Lt Governor ?

3. Deval has announced his plan NOT to run for reelection
Murray will run for Gov. We're gonna lose a congresscritter, probably one of the juniors, Whichever one it is could run. Also, the new Sheriff of Middlesex County will not be up for relection then, he could run.

4. Interesting proposal for senate candidate on Globe blog
5 Reasons Elizabeth Warren Should Challenge Scott Brown

1) Democrats are looking for an all-star.

2) The Democratic base loves her — and in Massachusetts, that's still a good thing.

3) She neutralizes Scott Brown's upsides.

4) The timing is right.

5) Democrats need a credible, easy-to-understand leader on economic protection issues.

If only . . .

5. I'm wondering how somebody runs against Brown ...
He's been a "moderate" Republican. Don't get me wrong - I don't trust him and I'd rather have somebody way more liberal in that seat. But I think to the average voter, he appears to be somebody who's voted conservative sometimes, "liberal" other times. Of course he's done it to cover himself in Massachusetts, but you can't paint him as a total thug, the way you could if he were more like Rick Santorum, say.
