A vindication for Patrick
IT WAS more than victory. It was vindication.

When Governor Deval Patrick snatched a second term from the jaws of a possible defeat, he added another successful chapter to the story of his life. But this one did not come easy.

Charlie Baker, the Republican and ex-CEO who also ran for governor, was criticized for living what was he was born into: a charmed life. Patrick’s was charmed in a different way, but still charmed.

<snip>

Something to think about: Patrick’s great victory handed Baker his first serious setback in life. His future is defined by how he handles it.

2. He had a great campaign organization & ran an excellent campaign.
Did a good job getting information out of the things he has done. I also think he did very well in the debates. (Full disclosure: I was one of the volunteer organizers in his campaign.)

3. True but still...
I almost thought he would be one term governor based on what people said.

4. Yes, that was the impression given early on.
Fortunately, he really turned it around.

5. then they are seriously misinformed. everyone i know admires
the man; including me, which is why i have been a volunteer for both his elections here.

maybe you ought to encourage "almost everyone" you know to go to one of his many local Q&As to Q him about their problems with him - and hear out his As. he is always very generous in answering his critics at those.

peace

6. Just watched him on with Emily Rooney on Channel 2 tonight
He is a personable, warm, compassionate, solid thinking man. Romney and Bush handed him a mess like Bush handed Obama.

His few early public relations mis-steps were forgotten, by the end of his term, and no one blames him for the economic conditions of this state and almost every other.

He has done what he can, still has a full plate with the tax cuts just voted on by the voters.

I don't think it will be easy for him at all for the next 4 years, or for any of us. But it won't be because he's not doing his job as well as he can.
