I never realized how much I love Massachusetts
Especially after living in Florida for a while. I'm really considering coming back, winters and all.

1. Mass. kicks ass!
No doubt about it. I lived up there for 5 years. I might go back as well.

2. Winter's not so bad...
I wouldn't give it up...

We live on the ocean and deal with that, and I still wouldn't give it up.
It's beautiful this time of year...
...never mind the political climate.

:D

3. I lived in a Blue state
until 3 years ago, lived in Wa. state, now am back in Arizona. I miss living in a blue state *sigh*. I was never political until I lived up there, I voted for Nader in 2000, and now back in Az, I really hate the political situation here. I never really realized before just what it was about Az. that I didn't like. Too damn many conservative people here.

4. I'm with you
This Georgia resident is about to pack his bags and return to New York. If the fundies want their theocracy, they can have it.

6. I've been isolating myself in the house since Tuesday
I can't bear the thought of mingling with right wing republicans at the mall, the beach, the bookstore.

Everytime I stand at my window washing dishes I'm forced to look out and see my neighbors car with Bush/Cheney stickers on it. I hope her house burns down so I can stand a watch it.

Thats what I do and boy does that piss em off.

It's not like we have a lot of them in this state but the ones I know are all chickenhawks.

Over politics dude? Over a difference of fucking opinion? Because someone doesn't agree with your position you want to see their house burn down? Very mature.

7. It wasn't always bad.
When I moved here 10 years ago, Georgia wasn't a bad place to live. The economy was booming (thank you, Big Dawg) - I had no trouble finding work in my field & it wasn't quite as crowded. Theofascism was definitely present (it's the Bible Belt, after all), but nowhere near as pervasive and all-encompassing as it is now.

On the other hand, NYC has gone from being an unlivable cesspool to a a place where raising a family isn't quite so difficult.

I had hoped to settle here in suburban Atlanta permanently, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen now - I just can't put up with the theofascists in this state any more.

9. Come home! Winters on the Cape are milder
and it's really only January and February that are bad. It's going to be in the 60s here today, and you know you can get beautiful days in December and March (in between rainy, damp ones).

I've never been happier to live here. How come we're the oasis of sanity?

13. What's so bad about the winters?
Seriously, it's not like Mass. is northern Maine or something. It gets cold, we get some snow, occasionally the driving is tough.

Except for Worcester, that place is a friggin' snow MAGNET. Why is that?

Come on home greywarrior, to a state that takes civil liberties seriously. We may have a consitutional amendment for universal health care coverage in 06 :-)

17. Ya me too
Im from Burlington and now live in Naples. I want to sort of come back just cause I love the blue collar effect of Boston. I live near all rich Bush voters and rednecks and it was one of the highest Bush counties for 04 (Collier County)

18. I LOVE IT HERE! Winters aren't bad
Even when they're wicked cold, as we say here. If you haven't seen it snow in New England, you are missing out on a beautiful part of the earth. This most beautiful state is one of the only ones where we have a delicate balance of all four seasons, and when you live with that for years it is like a second nature. As much as it is uncomfortable, I would feel extremely awkward if it didn't get cold. And hey, if you're from Florida the cape really isn't that bad and its a beautiful site to see snow on the beaches.

We count gay people as human beings in this state!

Can ya beat it?
