Wind Advisory:

Issued at: 3:29 PM EST 11/24/08, expires at: 11:30 PM EST 11/24/08

wind advisory in effect from 7 am to 6 pm est Tuesday

The NWS in taunton has issued a wind advisory, which is in effect from 7 am to 6 pm est Tuesday.

A stormy Tuesday will be highlighted by intermittently heavy rain and a period of strong east to southeast wind that could cause scattered power outages from broken tree limbs and downed wires.

The threat region is primarily along the coast from block island westerly and providence Rhode Island eastward to the cape and islands and northward to the south and southwest suburbs of boston.

The most likely region to experience sustained winds over 30 mph or gusts over 45 mph is the outer portion of cape cod and coastal plymouth county between 7 am and noon.

Block island and coastal southwest Rhode Island may still escape the advisory hazard wind.
No matter, winds should diminish in the Rhode Island region during early afternoon with diminishing wind arriving over southeast massachusetts during mid or late afternoon.

A wind advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be 31 to 39 mph or gusts will range between 46 and 57 mph.
Winds this strong are capable of downing small tree limbs and branches, possibly causing isolated power outages.
Driving can also be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

2. I hear that! I'm glad I haven't hung up my wind chimes or my bird cage yet either!
:hi:

I'm also glad I went to the store an hour ago and have no need to go out in the morning.

Sounds like it's going to be a raw, wet and windy day tomorrow. Brrrr!
