so much for fair an balanced

I was greatly disappointed but not surprised by the att.generals office result of the thibeault oil company swindle.
Does it effect me,like the "turtle club motto" you bet your sweet ass it does!
You see I knew the family for years; His father was a customer on my paper route.(1943-1945)
his dad had a filling sta. on the cor. of pleasant and standwood street. My dad bought gas and oil from him.
I worked all over new england on construction but when I lived in the brunswick area I bought my fuel from his son who inherited the business. I thought it was safe to buy the budget plan. And I paid my jan. budget plan after being told their was no danger
of not getting my oil.
claim for undelivered fuel.”

Conti said her office’s decision does not preclude former customers from bringing individual lawsuits against Thibeault for breach of contract or violations of the Maine Unfair Trade Practices Act. She noted that the local legislative delegation continues to work on legislation that would prevent similar problems in the future.

Thibeault Energy is only the second case — after one in Biddeford last year — Conti has investigated that has triggered complaints from more than 400 “victims,” she said.

‘Disappointing, but expected’

For former Thibeault customer Mike Ballback, who said he paid the company $1,875 last winter but only received one delivery, Conti’s response was “disappointing, but expected.”

In an email Sunday to The Times Record, Ballback wrote that he will not pursue legal action against the Thibeaults because he understands there are no assets available.

“The Attorney General’s (representative) stated in (her) letter that Maine law governing the use of prepaid contracts was violated,” Ballback wrote. “Since it appears that this is a civil violation, maybe our legislators need to take a look at the current law and assess whether the current law as written is adequately protecting our consumer rights.”
WELL AS YOU CAN SEE THE ATTY. GENERALS OFFICE HAS TWO SIDES TO EVERY LAW. THEY PROTECT THE BUSINESS OWNERS AND LEAVE THE CITIZENS IN THE LURCH.
AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED IF I GIVE MONEY FOR OIL AND YOU DON'T GIVE ME THE PRODUCT YOU STOLE FROM ME.(THE VERY LEAST YOU COMMITTED FRAUD)
IF IT HAD BEEN A WORKING MAN WHO RAN A SCAM LIKE THIS HE WOULD BE BEHIND BARS!
THAT MONEY THAT ME AND OVER 40 OTHERS PUT UP FRONT IS NOT THE BANKS MONEY! AN SHOULD BE EXCLUDED FROM ANYTHING THE BANKS GET! THE BANKS SHOULD ONLY GET WHAT THIBEAULT BORROWED MONEY ON!(AND THAT WASN'T MONEY PREPAID FOR OIL BY OTHERS)
WHERE IS JUSTICE?
