LePage brings age into governor's race
http://www.bangordailynews.com/story/Statewide/LePage-brings-age-into-governors-race,149626

AUGUSTA, Maine — Elizabeth "Libby" Mitchell, Maine's Democratic candidate for governor, doesn't appreciate Republican rival Paul LePage's belated birthday acknowledgment.

Over the weekend, LePage told supporters in Bath that "Libby had her 70th birthday a few weeks ago" and went on to say he was concerned about her, saying, "We should send her home."

Mitchell responded Monday by saying LePage "cannot seem to open his mouth without putting his foot in it."

She borrowed a quip from Ronald Reagan, saying she was not going to exploit her opponent's "youth and inexperience".

Mitchell, Maine's Senate president, turned 70 on June 22. LePage, mayor of Waterville, is 61 and will have a birthday before Election Day.

1. I love it when Dems get to use a Reagan line to
step on someone as disgusting as that Republican candidate!

Born in Maine, I have a certain fondness for Maine politics.

Does anyone have any polls on how the race is looking?
I wouldn't think LePage has much of a chance these days.

2. There's been one poll
It's from Rasmussen so it's a little bit right-slanted. A statistical dead heat between Libby and LePage with Cutler far behind.

3. Cutler worries me
I think he has a good chance of siphoning more votes from Michell than he does the crazies who are locked on LePage.

I was half interested the guy myself. That was until he decided to ignore a questionnaire from MSEA-SEIU and complained that they'd just endorse Libby Mitchell no matter what he had to say. I don't care what he has to say now.

4. He was a lobbyist for the Chinese government
That's enough for me. No way will I even give him a moment's consideration.
