Need help "DUing" Ari Fleischer's propaganda push-freedomswatch.org
Mainers can you help keep my post in General Discusion Politics from sinking! It is a call to action against those horrible commercials we are getting from WLBZ2.
I have 4 reccomends and need a 5th so it can be seen. It is a call to action and I need numbers. See the post here:

Here is my letter to WLBZ2:

WLBZ2

To whom it may concern,

I am formally protesting your broadcasting of the Iraq "War Commercials" put out by FreedomsWatch.org. I won't go into the hypocrisy of parading disabled soldiers in front of a camera to support our continuing presence in a foreign civil war when the 15 million dollars that is being used on these commercials could have purchased body armor to protect those same veterans. That is about the issue.

What I object to is that the list of donors behind this multi million dollar ad campaign is made up of individuals who have been appointed by the White House to various ambassadorships and include Ari Fleischer the former spokes-man for the Bush administration. Who, by the way, was interviewed and didn't even know the names of the veterans that they used.

With 75% of the American people against the direction this administration has taken us, I can see why they need a PR push. However the White House has legitimate access to all the media they need as long as they are open about their intent. When it is in disguise it is called propaganda.

Your station used public airwaves to broadcast propaganda while I was your audience. I am offended by that. Do you know that the phone number after the commercial says call your congress person, yet that is not who you get?

If you call you are asked,
"Do you believe surrender in Iraq will increase the terror threat to America?"

If you answer yes they put you through to your member of Congress. If you question that premise they hang up on you. That is misleading advertising.

What exactly are these paid spots?
If they are commercials they are selling a war and that is dreadful.

If they are political ads who are the candidates, and who endorsed it?

If it is a public service to show an opinion on a controversial issue, where is the other side's opinion?

Is it a public service to use the "News" slot this way?

It is a disgrace and the people at your station should refuse to be a party to it.

Sincerely,
