BONEHEAD -IDEOLOGY
Edited on Wed Jan-03-07 08:32 AM by luckyleftyme2
Listening to the local bone-head and his flock this morning. Love to hear his labor ideas, since he has little or no experince.
He has chosen for his rebel rousing once again the "MSEA". Well here's a little knowlege
about why it evolved.
back in 1963 the "msea" was an in house associtation that was strictly voluntary. they had
little or no influence on employee benefits. AND were begging for more members.
NOW here is the rub,MAINE EMPLOYEES AT THE TIME were way underpaid compared to the general
work force;but also compared to the neighboring states.
well lo and behold because of the "msea" membership it was brought to the legislatures
attention, and the governors attention to do a study on the enquities in the employee pay
field.
my pay grade went up 40% ! THANK GOD for the "MSEA" EVOLVING INTO A REAL UNION!
and guess what the first caller he had bitched about paying union dues(which he didn't pay)
and his ending words was he was under paid.!
I DON'T WANT TO RAMBLE,BUT THIS GUY IS ANTI EVERY THING!
ANOTHER REALITY-SUNDAY PAY-ITS GONE -THANKS TO THESE MORONS WHO HAVE ACCESS TO THE PUBLIC AND ARE LACKEYS FOR BUSINESS!
DO YOUR SELF AND YOUR FAMILY A FAVOR "JUST SHUT IT OFF"

1. You created a viewer for his show
Lucky,

You have carried on so much about this guy, I have decided to watch his show. Yes, he is a conservative and wrong about most issues, but you seem to fail to listen to what he says and simply dismiss it because he is a republican.

He was clear that he does not like unions and said he would never be a part of one. He also said he fully respects their right to exist. His argument and I believe a good one, is that state workers who were not a part of the union should have been grandfathered under the contract and only new hires should be forced to join or pay fair share.

That point is very reasonable and applied often in contractual situations.

BTW, he is wrong about the war. I read his newspaper column and his ideas will only cost more American lives. We should pull out.

2. What did you think of his plan
Lucky,

What did you think of his tax plan this morning? He says we should expand the sales tax, lower it to 4% and cut income tax rates from 8.5% to 5.5%

I did the math (the exercise he proposed) and for my family it would mean about a $1700 a year savings.

I thought it was rather progressive for such a conservative

You are right about the callers. They all seem to worship him .. He also gets a lot of response to his newspaper column

While I am not a fan yet, he does not seem as bad as you make him out to be.

I think he just grew up in a rich, southern home and never understood what it is too struggle

U TRYING TO TROLL ME SONNY.if you think any idea of this joker is original your" wonkas".He merely capitalizes on others ideas. This has been around for a while. It's straight out of the repuke party alternative to the democratic plan.
I BELIEVE my post was on the state union.since i've been a state employee in the past, and also in a management position I have had the opportunity to listen to both sides.
ONE i've lived in the south, two i've heard many a sermon on sun. morning from a pulpit that
hated unions.I rented an apt. near a southern Baptist church. You bet I believe in separation of state and church.
Now what he refuses to say is that to become a state employee you know there is a union.
And what I have found is that those who refuse to pay their share, usually are slackers, complainers, and will let others pick up the check at coffee break. In other words they want everything for nothing, and let the other guy pay.
This is what happens when you work for a large organization and have no representation. If your on the low end of the tier, you get screwed.
The other thing is like his caller yesterday,he bitched about having to pay dues, but ended his speech with he's underpaid! he represents what a dues paying employee despises.
A FREE LOADER! AND IF YOU TALK TO THESE PEOPLE YOU WILL FIND MANY OF THE WHINERS HAVE THE SAME ATTITUDE.
THESE NAYERS ARE NOTHING NEW,WE HAD THEM IN THE 60'S AND 70,S-NOW IF THE MAJORITY VOTED FOR THE UNION,IS THAT A DEMOCRATIC THING? NOT IF YOUR A REPUKE.
MY MESSAGE TO THOSE WHO DON'T WANT TO PAY THERE FAIR SHARE: SEEK ALTERNATIVE EMPLOYMENT
OR BECOME A MEMBER AND HOLD THE COSTS DOWN; NO REPRESENTATION WAS TRIED AND FAILED MISERABLY

5. You got us mentioned on his show
Apparently another forum mentioned that I thought his tax idea was progressive. It gave him heartburn, so he mentioned it on his show today.

By the way, I am a state employee and a union member. I believe in Unions, but I am not sure the MSEA is all you say that it is. You seem to attack everyone who does not believe everything you write here.

You dump on the Fox guy for being a true-believer. What are you?

Your comments to shorebound are out of line

You don't want to discuss ideas here, you want us all to adopt what you think. I have voted democrat all my life. My Dad worked at the shipyard. My Mom is a school teacher. I cracked a 25 year old bottle of champagne on November 7th.

Don't ever call me a troll
