Snowe's yard signs don't say "republican"
I read an LTE in my local paper, from a rather well known person in the community and apparently (I haven't seen them myself) Olympia's yard signs fail to mention that she's a republican. I guess we must be a tad bit embarassed to admit it...

So, anybody else notice this particular tactic on the yard signs? Is it limited only to one party or do both do this?

1. Most candidates don't include it, both parties
Jean Hay Bright's signs clearly say "Democrat" though.

3. That's been the case ...
... for quite a while now. I noticed it during the 1998 election cycle, for both parties. No one mentions their party affiliation anymore. Another sign that politics has become more about the person than the party, for good or ill.

4. We have "Vote Change, Vote Nixon" signs in my neighborhood
It's hilarious. He's a Republican running against Larry Bliss for State House.

Bliss v. Nixon!

5. I saw a Candidate with a big ol' donkey. I didn't really keep track of
the name (though I meant to) because it was in (I think) Washington County, and I vote in Kennebec.

6. eh
...that doesn't mean much - Baldacci just has "Baldacci - Governor" and used to have "Baldacci - Congress" on his. He never really identified his membership in the Democratic Party. Its a move by most candidates to not isolate their support and appear divisive. Not many put their party affiliation on their signs.
