Alleged Metairie public masturbator dies in car crash in New Orleans

A New Orleans man who was recently arrested for pulling up next to female motorists and allegedly masturbating died early Monday when the car he was driving slammed into a metal utility pole in Desire, police said.

Lance Williams, 32, was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry west on Almonaster Avenue about 1 a.m. when he went off the road at Higgins Boulevard and hit the pole, said officer Hilal Williams, a New Orleans Police Department spokeswoman. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigators think speed was a factor in the crash, police said. The Orleans Parish coroner's office will conduct an autopsy and toxicology tests.

Just a week ago, Williams was arrested for allegedly pulling up next to unsuspecting women while driving a green Ford Expedition and allegedly masturbating, mostly while stopped in traffic in Metairie.

A Lance is a pole weapon or spear designed to be used by a mounted warrior. The lance is longer, stouter and heavier than an infantry spear, and unsuited for throwing, or for the rapid thrusting.
