Join the Peace Train from Louisiana to D.C. for September Protest
Edited on Wed Jun-29-05 10:15 AM by funkybutt
Louisiana Activist Network is organizing a PEACE TRAIN from New Orleans to Washington,DC, picking up activist groups across the South on our way to represent the solid antiwar majority on the government's streets on September 24, 2005. We can fill a train if we lash things together properly. Southerners who wish to get in on this gig should start talking to us here --> http://www.newdemocracyrising.com/messageboard.asp

This could be an incredible life experience. Please get a group together and join us. One way tickets from New Orleans are just over $100. We are suggesting that everyone interested in coming reserve their amtrak ticket as soon as they can.

Here's a link to the Amtrak schedule (select "Crescent" as your route)---> http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Am...

*Note* the Departure date has been moved back to Thursday due to widespread concerns about Amtrak's notorious delays. However, the Crescent is the most punctual of all the Amtrak lines so this should put us in D.C with time for Site Seeing Friday.

Below are the towns the LAN PEACE TRAIN will pass and the times we will arrive at each:

2. Great BOSS!
We've had a tremendous amount of interest in the Peace Train in just a week since the announcement! Quite a few people have already confirmed and booked their trips, many others ALL OVER THE SOUTH are planning to join us but not officially committed. If we don't fill up that train, we're going to be DAMN CLOSE.

Several of the confirmed participants are Veterans like yourself,BOSS. It would be my honor to march next to y'all on the streets of Washington DC. I sure hope y'all can make it!!

ALL ABOARD!!! It's going to be a GREAT RIDE!

4. Train too expensive? Greyhound $118 round trip NO-WASH.
For those who want to go, but find the train too expensive, if you book through greyhound.com at least 7 days in advance, the fare from New Orleans to Washington is only $118 for the round trip, and takes about the same time as the train.
