Although Steve Beshear (D) maintains a solid lead over incumbent Ernie Fletcher (R) in the governor's race, I expect a flurry of last-ditch, Mitch McConnell-financed dirty tricks and subterfuge.

It's good that Mark Nickolas has pledged to keep Bluegrass Report alive at least until the election. He's a humble fellow who despises having to run pledge drives, but he requires some assistance to keep the site online. I'm sure he would appreciate any & all donations that get sent his way.

2. Didn't McConnell back Ann Northrup in the primary? I doubt he is

too popular with the Fletcher crowd. It gives me small hope that some of them might not vote for McConnell in '08.
