Greetings, Kentuckians, from the UK.
Sorry if I'm going back over old ground, but my wife just got her voting papers as an overseas voter and we couldn't BELIEVE the wording of that Marriage referendum question. Am I right that it was framed to confuse or am I right?

If folk are going to make a choice, surely it should be a clearly worded one. Has anyone complained about it?

3. KY same-sex marriage amendment
http://www.bgdailynews.com/articles/stories/public/200409/09/0e8J_news.html

Along with choosing among candidates for office, Kentucky voters will be asked to vote yes or no on the following: “Are you in favor of amending the Kentucky Constitution to provide that only a marriage between one man and one woman shall be a marriage in Kentucky, and that a legal status identical to or similar to marriage for unmarried individuals shall not be valid or recognized?”

4. Obviously, I don't have the paper in front of me ...
... it's currently winging its way to Louisville ... but I'm fairly sure that the actual wording is a lot more tortuous and confusing than that.

Or maybe I was just drunk when I read it ???
