I'm sure I'll live to regret letting you take pictures. Now you know why I'm always objecting when you get the camera out. If I buy you a Guinness or two will you delete the other photos?

I was diagnosed with BC in Jan., went through 4 cycles of chemo after a simple mastectomy, and now I'm starting to feel better each day. My hair's coming back in, and right now it looks like Anderson Cooper's! How are you doing?

Which one(s) are you attending? Times, I mean.

Man, oh man. I just finished up giving the dogs baths. I took them for a walk earlier and they all thought it would be funny to roll in smelly stuff. I think it used to be a squirrel. They took turns rolling in it. Three dogs and three baths. Right now I feel like I've just wrestled a bear and two of her cubs. I'm going to go take a nap. I need to rest up so I can out run on Saturday.

38. That will change soon
It has to. I can barely stand myself right now. You wouldn't believe what a fun day I've had. :eyes: I feel like I've run a marathon.

Started with the dogs, then it was the friend with a stolen car (he's pissed and wanted to vent), then there was the friend (who is visiting Central America with her son) losing her purse with her passport, credit cards, etc. (she's hysterical), a sick (and somewhat demanding) husband and then there was my confused sister who is calling every fifteen minutes because she can't remember that she just called. Just as things started settling down I realized we had no food in the house - literally. So now I have to go to the grocery store.

Right after I got back and put everything away I sat down to relax. It is about 2 pm and I realize that I still haven't eaten today. I get up to go make a sandwich when my friend with the stolen car calls. The cops found his car after it had been in an accident. Thankfully they also caught the guy who stole it. He was passed out behind the wheel. So my friend comes back over and I go with him to get his now damaged car. As a "thank you" he took me to a late lunch.

When I walked in the door I heard the Admiral telling someone that he will sent some documents out in the overnight mail so they can discuss it tomorrow morning on the phone. Naturally he's too sick to do it so I'm back in the car. After standing in line at the post office I find out they can't guarantee overnight delivery. So then I'm off to go ferret out the nearest FedEx mailing station. I get there, everything's cool except I don't have any way of paying for it since I left my wallet in the recovered car at my friend's house. I must have taken it out when I was searching for my cigs. So now I have to drive across town to get my wallet. The car is locked so then I have to go track down my friend to unlock it. I found him, drove back across town and got my wallet, went back to FedEx and got the documents mailed.

I finally get home and find out it is time to fix dinner. I got dinner started and then I have to take the dogs out for their afternoon break. After they came back in I decided it was a good time to take a quick shower and a short nap. That's when I noticed that all three of the dogs thought it was a good idea to dry out on the bed. The sheets and the mattress were soaked in some places. Instead of a shower and nap I had to strip the bed and do the laundry. Then I had to get a hair dryer and dry out the mattress.

I'm going to go take a shower before it is time to take the dogs out for their evening walk. Right now I'm just waiting for this frigging day to end.

That sounds like such a horrible day, I won't even make a smart-ass remark about it. Well, maybe about the wallet v. cigarettes thing is fair game, but I won't do it.
I can't wait to see you guys again Saturday. Maybe another after party? I'll make sure proud is properly invited this time.

Edited on Thu Jul-27-06 12:05 AM by Mabus
I don't think I smell like dog anymore. Moreover, the Admiral is sound asleep, the dogs have had their evening walk and the alarm on the coffee pot has been set. I think I can finally relax. I'm already laughing at today's absurd happenings, or should I say, my series of unfortunate events. The whole wallet/cigarette thing was like a bad comedy skit.

I'm up for another after party. Hell, I might start one tonight. I know I've got a couple of beers in the fridge. Now, if I could just find a lighter I could get my own little party started.

on edit: have you heard from proud today? She called yesterday morning. Her husband's back in the hospital.

We enjoying getting together with you.

You know, even when I was ready to scream, I kept thinking about proud. What she's going through is a lot worse than what I experienced today. I felt guilty feeling sorry for myself today when I knew she and her family were having it rough. If you talk to her tomorrow tell her I'm doing my mumbo jumbo for her and I should have my e-mail working by the afternoon. Just let her know that she and the kids aren't alone.

on edit: I'm dead on my feet. I'm taking my beer and crawling into bed.
