9. Later on in life, he was a successful Christmas Tree farmer.
He was one of the stars in a movie that was savaged by the bots in MST3K called Lost Continent.

13. Like Ohio, I bet you're saddled with a few blue pockets
trying to carry the state, and you're surrounded by a sea of red. I swear, these rural counties are like a damned anchor and I feel sorry for any good Dem that has to live in these places. This is why we get schmucks like Bob Taft and Mike DeWine running our shit. I suppose they're not NEARLY as bad as Televangelist Brownback, but it's still a hinderance to progress.

14. I'm in a blue pocket
one of really two strongholds (the other is Wyandotte County). Thankfully Brownback has promised not to run in 2010. Let's hope he keeps this promise. I know K-State is still waiting their parking garage.

From his wiki entry:

Brownback actually started his political career while attending Kansas State University, where he served as student body president. He secured election by promising a parking garage to the student body. Kansas State does not have a parking garage to this day, and the parking situation is worse than ever.

4. In the book,"What's the Matter with Kansas?"
Brownback comes across like a phoney hack who has used the religous right for his own political power.

It should be required reading for all Dems-no, all Americans (except for the Kool-Aid drinkers).

Scary stuff.

11. Should read; "Good God, Scam Brownbutt"
What an idiot. As one of his constiuents I have yet to gain entry into his offices to discuss matters of importance to me ranging from the Iraq War to the environment. I think more and more people are becoming disenchanted with him and religious rhetoric. The more his quest to push religion into the government the more it will help erode his base. Sebelius became our governor because the moderate republican lost to the fundie. So Sebelius, a moderate Dem, was running against the fundie. She won because the moderate GOP'ers defected. Chris Biggs almost won (close enough for a recount) the Kansas AG spot as the Democratic candidate although he didn't campaign because he had a full-time job. If he had campaigned he probably wouldn't have lost to that wingnut PhilL Kline. Kline had a lot of name recognition (and larger coffers) having already serviced in the Kansas Legislature.

The more that stuff like this gets out the more likely the moderate GOP is to defect. So, I don't see this as scary as you do. I'm just mad as hell he's one of the two GOP toadies that are representing me in the Senate. I will do every thing I can to get both of them out when their tenure is up.

good thing. Hope you're right! There's a lot of sheeple out there! :dunce:

15. Sam Brownhole
is an embarrassment to Kansas. What scares me is the number of people who think he is a good decent human being. Listening to so-called "christian" radio praise him is enough to make anyone puke.

21. You want a candidate
I got one, how but your Dem Governor Kathleen Sebelius. In my mind she must be something if she can win a statewide race in Kansas.

23. I know, I know
his kids went to school with my kids. They damned near ruined Halloween. My boys ended up going to school dressed normally with signs that said, "My real costume is prohibited" or something like that. They could only be good guys or angels or animals like kitties and puppies. It was ridiculous.

25. He was one of the parents
trying to get our Halloween parties to be sweet, not scary. It may have been his wife doing most of the work but they succeeded. It is not easy to get your 5th and 6th grade boys to dress for Halloween as little kitties or puppies. It was part of the movement and it ended up wrecking the school for us. He (they) were not alone.

27. Hey, MuseRider--I worked at Beto Jct. for years and the owners
got into Sam's church; suddenly the employees who always dressed up (if they wanted) could NOT, BECAUSE....YOU KNOW...THAT IS RELATED TO SATANIC CULTS.
