They only changed one thing -- the last line. Given the content, I expected it to happen.

I’m so proud of our Republicans and the way they go to bat for their base.
The May 8 Bloomberg news article, “Republicans Set Aside Middle-Income Tax Cuts to Focus on Rich,” sets the stage well. When faced with the prospect of their economic agenda being brought to a screeching halt in November, Republicans turned their focus not to the plight of the majority of Americans, but to tax rates on investments and repealing the estate tax.
IRS data shows taxpayers who earned at least $1 million reaped 43 percent of all savings from reduced rates on dividends and capital gains. The estate tax being so fervently pushed by Republicans will affect only 12,600 families with more than $2 million in assets this year, a number that will decline to 7,200 by 2009, according to a study by the Tax Policy Center. Adding insult to injury, the very person sworn to protect the interests of Iowans – Charles Grassley – is leading the Republican charge as chairman of the Senate Finance Committee.
It’s good to know Republicans not only approve of the $400 million retirement package Exxon Mobile provided its former chairman Lee Raymond, but they continue to work to ensure his children won’t have to worry about being taxed on it when he dies.
When it comes to you and me; however, we just need to hang in there and wait for the top one percent to pi… er… ‘trickle’ down on us.

Of course, the last line omitted the "pi...er..." reference. :D
