1. What they don't say is that Leach helps bills get to the floor
and then votes against them if the republican whip (right now Roy Blunt)says it's okay. The Bankruptcy Bill needed him, so he was GOP-for-a-day. Hopefully 2nd District voters won't get fooled again (and again) by his tactics. Jim Leach will never let the republican Party down, he'll just act like a moderate when it gets him votes and go hard right when they pull his strings.

I think Loebsack has him and the GOP scared. Let hard conservative republicans paint him as a lily-livered moderate...he's still too republican for me!

I think this is a great opportunity to help David Loebsack get to Washington, D.C. - the republican Party doesn't want Leach in D.C. and either do we! Send some $$ to Loebsack and make their dreams come true (or will it be their nightmare?! insert evil laugh here...I wish I knew how to do wave files :()

2. more like a MINO.
This f'in guy. There is nothing moderate about him.

How the media has given Leach a pass when it comes to his back-and-forth voting (voting so that it reaches the floor, then voting against it) I don't know.

We need to do some research (or verify that Mr Loebsack's team hasn't) that highlights this voting hypocrisy that has allowed Leach to keep his RINO title. This information needs to be spread far and wide to help combat Leach's built in name recog as an incumbent and this silly notion that he is some sort of moderate.

3. Maybe the regressives will stay away from the polls in Nov
to punish Jimmy. Way to go! Teach Jimmy a lesson. Debi is right on the money with her assessment. I am sure you all know how I feel.
BTW - It ain't only the last year, more like the last 30 years or so. A well practiced skill of hiding his true persuasions from the public.

4. Need to go no further then his vote for leadership.
As long as he his voting for the likes of Dennis Hastert or Tom Delay for leadership, he is not on the side of everyday Iowans. Every move they make has his blessing.
