Grassley fears for party's future
A lot of people want to say Republicans are having problems because of stands we take on specific issues. I've seen polls where that's not the reason. The reason is we're not governing."

-- Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA), quoted by the Sioux City Journal.

1. Beautiful!
Well Chuck, I almost agree with you!

I would have to say it's more a combination of stances AND the lack of governance, but hey...whatever he says.

3. Ha ha ha. Hey, Chuck, you lie down with dogs....
They've been bloviating about a smaller gov't for decades. Instead they've given us a bigger, yet less effective gov't.

Finally their 'bait and switch' is backfiring. They got a bunch of hayseeds to vote for them with terrorist fear mongering and the horrors of gay marriage. But some of those hayseeds are starting to see through that charade. Turns out they want a government that actually works.

4. No, Chuckles, it is because of the stands you take on issues
Like Social Security and Iraq and Katrina and tax cuts for the rich. The fact that y'all are governing to implement those policies is also the problem. Governing to favor the upper class is eventually going to piss people off.
Chuck, if you read this, do us a favor and quit. Tired of paying you a salary so you can govern for the rich. Thanks.

5. Hey Chuckles! The problem is that you're governing TOO MUCH...
We don't like your radical, unpopular agenda.

That's why the polls are down.

You guys are governing...like rabid dogs. This administration has borrowed more money than all administrations combined. You're bankrupting this country, taking us into lie-based wars that are sucking the life out of our country's budget, spirit and our diplomatic relations with other countries.

Besides touting the pResident's failed Social Security plan, you also were the principal author on that horrid bankruptcy bill. You've stood behind this administration at every turn, while ignoring the fact that his policies hurt Iowans. Did you forget that senior citizens hated Junior's SocSec scheme--and that Iowa has the largest per capita population of senior citizens than any other state?

I hate it when they don't GET IT.

"Not governing." Oh please.

6. They govern like a bunch of thieves who must steal
as much as they can before they get caught and put in jail.
