It looks like a good number of Iowa House members are choosing to support Blouin...

I think this is going to add a trememdous amount of money and volunteers to Blouin's campaign.

DES MOINES, IA - More legislative Democrats have joined Mike Blouin's gubernatorial bandwagon. Blouin announced today he has landed the endorsements of 32 Iowa House Democrats. That support comes on the heels of 18 Iowa Senate Democrats backing his 2006 gubernatorial bid two weeks ago.

Democratic House Leader Pat Murphy told a Statehouse news conference that current economic growth policies are fueling a resurgence in the state and should be continued to stem the flow of educated young people leaving Iowa to find opportunities elsewhere.

The list of House Democrats endorsing Blouin today included Reps. Swati Dandekar of Marion, Ro Foege of Mount Vernon, Rob Hogg of Cedar Rapids and Ray Zirkelbach of Monticello

1. This is really weird for me. I went to school with his twin daughters.

I spent the night at his house - slumber party! He baptized my son.

I've seen him a lot when I went to mass for Holidays - when the Hubby and I returned to CR and stayed at the In-Laws for Christmas, etc. He is a Deacon at All Saints Church.

But I don't really know him.

He always seemed like a very nice man.

I have looked all over online and can't seem to find a list of names anywhere.

I suppose I could ask him tonight if I get a chance!

All have publicly endorsed Blouin for Governor. I have the whole list actually, but since I am technically "working" I will have to wait until later to type the whole list out.

Wonder how many of these representatives and senators listened to their constituents before making the endorsement? None of them called me.....

Oh, well. With the Governor campaigning for him behind the scenes, it's hard for Blouin to NOT get legislative support.

4. Well 32 of 49(?) reps and 18 of 25(?) Senators

endorse Blouin. Frankly I am somewhat surprised. Looks like mamy of them would like to avoid an inter-party bloodbath. Let the Repubs do that. VandyP most likely will be going after Nussle with the kitchen sink.
I believe that we have an extremely fine group of candidates, from Fallon to Judge to Blouin (still have a problem with non-choice). Culver is yet to be heard from. Will these early legislative endorsements convince Chet not to run? Didn't he lose Roxanne Conklin's endorsement to Blouin? I am not keeping up with these as I should with the daily outrages from Bushco.

Still supporting Chet, but would be fine w/his running for Congress as well.

(Don't know if this is the legislature rallying behind Blouin or the Governor rallying the legislature behind Blouin....what do these people do if Blouin loses the primary or the general? How much "political capital" will they have with their constituents then?)
