Billboard in Mason City draws complaints
I saw this on the TH's web site this morning;

MASON CITY -- A billboard in Mason City that feature a definition of socialism accompanied by the phrase "Obama-nation" is drawing complaints.

Mark Tlusty, of Rockford, spent about $400 to display the sign for a month. He represents a group called Concerned Citizens and helped organize an April anti-tax protest in Mason City.

Another resident, Kathy Wild, has stated that it makes Mason City look intolerant.

I checked an online farm subsidy database, and it appears Mr. Tlusty has received just over $4,000 in farm subsidies from 1995 to 2006. I guess it's socialism only when poor and vulnerable people are helped. I wonder what he calls getting subsidies then? I doubt he calls it socialism.

2. Well, if it costs only $400 to do something like this
Maybe there's another billboard nearby where a progressive message could be put up.

3. Friend in South Dakota
pastors son's group are putting pro democratic billboards all over. They have positive messages with access to volunteer phone numbers and it seems to be working for them.
