McCain Campaign Tries To See Glass as Half Full
Behind in Polls, Republican Needs Momentum

<snip>

Mike DuHaime, McCain's political director, said internal campaign polling does not make the electoral map look as bad as some public polls suggest. For example: Asked why, if he has given up on Michigan, McCain has not given up on Iowa, a state that looks strong for Obama in public polls, DuHaime said because the campaign's polling has Obama's lead in the low single digits.

In the last four polls, Obama is leading by +8, +11, +16, and +12. That averages out to +11.75, which is a low double digit lead. I knew that Republicans can't do math, but I figure that they can count to TWO.

The best he's gotten in Iowa is a tie in the Big 10 poll, which I don't believe for a second. 538.com has Obama winning by 13.7.

John Sidney McCain III should get out of Iowa, and try to save some red states. Like Virginia (Obama + 6.5), Ohio (Obama + 3.8), Florida (Obama + 3.2), North Carolina (Obama + 1.9), Indiana (Obama + 1.3), Missouri (Obama + 1.2), and West Virginia (McCain + 0.8 and trending Obama).

5. Hey - we resemble that remark!
I was getting optimistic about things over here until I read a bunch of comments on the Sioux City Journal website. Those people are Nucking Futs.

3. Yes
Yes, I wish he would abandon Iowa and leave us in peace. I am so tired of Republicans who think 2 plus 2 equals five.

4. Agreed............but,
If he's wasting time, energy, resources and MONEY here.............he isn't using it in the states he needs to (WV, VA, NC, FL). I say let the crazy old bastard waste his time and money here. As for me, I'll keep canvassing every weekend...and chasing absentee ballots...and phone banking...and talking to co-workers...and recruiting new voters.......and WHATEVER else it takes to ensure our great state is not red EVER again!
