Karl Rove in Iowa City Sunday night Feb. 17th at the IMU
Come see a traitor in person. See what a man who commits treason looks like. Why isn't he in jail? Ask him yourself maybe.

Karl Rove, former deputy chief of staff and senior adviser to President George W. Bush, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, in the Main Lounge of the Iowa Memorial Union on the University of Iowa campus.

Admission to Rove's lecture, "Reflections From The Architect," is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. at the east entrance of the lounge only, and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Also participating in the lecture will be Frank Durham, professor of journalism in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, who will interview Rove. A question-and-answer session will follow the on-stage interview.

Rove has given UI Television (UITV) permission to broadcast the complete lecture after the event; a separate news release stating the day and time for that broadcast will be sent out once those details are set.

Rove's appearance is sponsored by the University Lecture Committee, with support from the F. Wendell Miller Fund.

2. I really hope Iowans will turn out.
The protests are gearing up!! I would love to see 1,000s of Iowans show up to voice their contempt for this sleaze-bag. How dare the University of Iowa pay Rove $40,000 let alone invite him here in the first place.

Article in today's Daily Iowan:
http://media.www.dailyiowan.com/media/storage/paper599/news/2008/02/13/Metro/Rove-Visit.Sparks.Protest-3206187.shtml?reffeature=htmlemailedition

Lots of emails like this being circulated:
The UI Anti-war Committee has called for a protest outside the Iowa Memorial Union at 5:30pm on Sunday February 17, 2008. We have space outside and inside the IMU and will combine an educational campaign about his traitorous war crimes with a theatrical street protest.
Please forward widely and let's build for it. Iowa City(and Iowa) can't let him come here unchallenged. Information from david-goodner@uiowa.edu

4. If it doesn't snow (a big if)
I intend to try and make it. I want to ask him a question anyway. The question is, "Why aren't you in jail?"

5. Thank you! I just shot off an email of protest.
I don't even want that creep within our borders.

If they have so much money to waste, they should help the students with their books or tuition.

11. Rove Visit Rescheduled for March 9
http://www.uiowa.edu/~events/02-15-08-rove

"Because of the inclement weather University of Iowa officials have rescheduled a talk by Karl Rove, former deputy chief of staff and senior advisor to President George W. Bush, for 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 9 in the Main Lounge of the Iowa Memorial Union on the UI campus."

Yes! There was no way I could make it in tonight to "greet" that slime-ball. I'm snowed under.

12. So he's just a sissy?
I thought all these republic motherfuckers were tough guys who didn't mind a little ice and snow. Maybe I'm wrong. It happens. Rarely, but it happens.

16. I just watched some of the 60 minutes piece on Don Siegelman.
I hope there is a huge turn out to protest this prick. How the hell this whole group can sleep at night is beyond me. Someone please take a free Siegelman sign on my behalf.
