Bill Clinton appearance in Muscatine Tuesday
Former President Clinton made an appearance in Muscatine Tuesday on behalf of Hillary. John Deeth has good coverage on the nuts and bolts of the speech here:

My impressions: I was more surprised by what he didn't say than by what he did say. With Iraq being the number one issue, Clinton said nothing about it until questioned. In that answer there was an reference to how important the 'oil law' was.
Details of how the universal health care would be achieved were lacking.
Answering a question on gay marriage he was terse, changing his normal verbosity to a very short answer.
Since I didn't take notes I can't remember all the points I pondered as we came home. As we drove and talked we were rather surprised by what was glossed over or not mentioned. Especially when he talked on and on. I had forgotten how long Clinton can talk.

1. What is up about his claim that he was against the Iraq war from the very beginning?
I don't know that he is as much of a help to Senator Clinton's campaign as folks thought he might be. Your thoughts?

2. for one thing he drones on and on
my attention span is not that long.
There were several spots where I wondered if Hillary would agree with or support what Bill said. Not having a pencil & paper, I didn't write them down. I don't think he swayed that many on Tuesday. I saw many folks there who were there for curiosity. Afterwards I heard many curious comments.
Since Bill isn't running for pres himself, I guess if he wants to rewrite history I don't care except it casts Dems in the same light as Karl Rove. I think it makes his boss look bad also. Since she hasn't issued a retraction, I guess she accepts his spin on things.
