Grassley is truly Bush's bitch.
Am I nuts or has Grassley gone from a somewhat decent conservative to being Bush's bitch? His watercarrier? His lapdog?
What I cannot understand is why. Grassley is pretty much unbeatable (sadly), so why should he lose what little integrity he has to be George's pet?
Maybe I am just venting. I just got a response from Grassley on Bolton and he sees nothing wrong with Bolton and blames the MEDIA for Bolton's bad perception.
And Social Security. He parrots the party line. ETC,ETC .. Why???

2. Oh yeah he is
I actually liked him when he held up the $600 hammer.
I went to his website to send him an e-mail and made the mistake of reading his statements on the nuclear option.
He stated that the dems were drawn into" far left wing special interest groups" (I didn't even know we had any)

I sent him an e-mail alright and it wasn't very nice.
I went to his townhall meeting. Didn't make waves (wish I had)
He was talking about something else and said "95% is pretty darn good" I threw that up to him about the judicial nominies.

3. He took a lot of flak over the Rain Forest in Coralville thing,
so maybe now its payback time?? I don't know where he's coming from, because like you said, he used to be pretty decent. He seemed to have the best interests of Iowans guiding him. Not any more, though!!

It is interesting that he will have the record for longest service in the Senate from Iowa. Since 1900, only 6 people have been in the senate for more than 6 years, and prior to his election, only Bourke Hickenlooper had served for more than 20 years. http://www.senate.gov/pagelayout/senators/one_item_and_teasers/iowa.htm
I've heard it said before that he was the first in a long time, to even run for the senate more than once, and it seems he is also reveling in the power of that office, now.

However, I haven't helped elect him the last 2 times he's run!! He's been there too long, already IMHO.
