Anyone been to the 86th & Michigan Skyline Chili?
Edited on Mon Dec-06-04 01:46 AM by samwisefoxburr
My God, it is jingoist city there! After 9/11 they put up all this stuff on the walls about what happened. I didn't mind it then, but to see it there now makes me sick, what with all the pictures of Bush still there!

Ugh! I guess I shouldn't be surprise since it is Indiana.

1. Skyline Chili
Thanks for the warning, I sure won't go there now after your warning. That would be in the red part of Indianapolis over there. I live in the blue part.

2. 86th and Michigan Road...
Yech, how much more Muffy can you get? I was afraid of being cited for "Driving While Poor" there when I lived in Indy...

4. 86th and Michigan isn't exactly what I'd call the "red part"
I lived in that area for over ten years. I only moved to the East side just a little while ago.

There's a hell of a lot of imigrants, minorities and lower income people that live in that area. You all are thinking a little bit further North. Yeah, there's pockets of the rich in that area, but from living in that neighborhood I can tell you that it's only pockets. The whole area is filled with rental complexes full of middle to lower income people. Those areas outnumber the the rich areas by far.

You all are thinking Carmel. 86th and Michigan is not a Red zone. Mixed, maybe. But definitely not Red.

6. Yep.
86th and Michigan is the borderline area where 'white flight'ers are trapped before they jump the beltway into Carmel and Zionsville.
'Those people' (read that: minorities and middle incomer's) have been spreading upwards from near-northside into Pike Township for the last 5 years, so 86th & Mich is not nearly as lily white and yuppie as it used to be.

7. Of course Skyline Chili has ALWAYS sucked anyway - tastes awful
Headquarters is in Cincinnati I am pretty sure, Cincinnati is much redder that Indianoplace too, so this is probably a franchisee trying to suck up to the red owners from Cincy? possible I imagine.

8. i prefer the Qboda next door
The tv there is always turned to CNN. One time CNN was showing a young Republican rally and my friend stands up and yells: "A young Republican. You've never had sex!"

Everyone in the place cracked up.
