Indianapolis - Under pressure to explain his personal and business ties to Indianapolis businessman Tim Durham, Marion County Prosecutor Carl Brizzi is now speaking out. Some of Brizzi's answers are raising even more question about his relationship to Durham.

Under fire for his business and personal ties with embattled Indianapolis financier Tim Durham, Brizzi is feeling the political fallout.

"In retrospect, there's probably some decisions that I would have made differently in terms of that because I think there's a perception issue," Brizzi said.

After he was criticized for dodging reporters' questions about his ties to Durham, now the subject of a federal investigation into an alleged multi-million dollar Ponzi scheme involving Ohio-based Fair Financial, the two-term Marion county prosecutor has opened up this week, agreeing to a round of interviews that at times raised even more questions.

"Did Durham loan you any money for any of these investments? Anything? No money from Fair or any of these other companies? No personal loans or anything like that?" Eyewitness News asked Brizzi.

"Not that I can think of, no. To the best of my knowledge. I'd have to go back. I haven't explored any of that in terms of those stocks," Brizzi said.

1. Brizzi is toast
Will be interesting to see how this plays out. But Carl is history, there's no way he can run again.

In fact this should help ensure a Democratic city hall in the 2011 election. Mayor Ballard is weak and now the entire Marion County Republican organization will be spending the next year or two trying to get out from under this scandal.
