"After an hour of questions and comments on the reorganization of Quincy's Catholic schools, one woman tossed out possibly the most significant question.

"Whose decision is it to reverse any part of this plan?" Jennifer Peters, a member of St. Anthony Parish, asked the seven church leaders at the head table for Sunday afternoon's open meeting at the Knights of Columbus.

"That decision would likely rest with the seven of us," said Monsignor Mike Kuse, pastor of St. Mary Parish. "That's how we started, that's how we want to continue, and at this point, I don't think there's a concern for us to change the process."

That response led to grumbling from the crowd and, in retrospect, made much of the day's discourse less meaningful."

Catholic schools closing all over the state...
