Only Republicans
Why even bother trying to explain your endorsement of President Bush? The Tribune would endorse a dead chicken for president if it were running Republican.

Bad endorsement
Cowardly. That is my description of the Tribune's endorsement of George W. Bush for president (Editorial, Oct. 17).

Tribune actions
The only thing more predictable than the Cubs losing is the Tribune's endorsement of a Republican for president. The spirit of Colonel McCormick lives on.

Foolish pick
Shame on you, Tribune, for being fooled twice.

Bad choice
I have always thought, and relied upon, the local newspaper's ability to digest facts and transmit reasonable information based on such facts. Such practices are a clear sign of editorial intelligence. For four years, Americans have been paralyzed by a president unable to make intelligent decisions based on factual knowledge. The consequences have been, and will continue to be, catastrophic. How can we endorse a newspaper that supports such a grossly unintelligent president, and uniquely dishonest administration?

Best choice
Finally you have come to your senses and are backing the president in his re-election bid.

1. here's the text of my letter which accompanied my cancellation of delivery

Given my support of free speach, it is improper for me to criticize your right to endorse anyone, including the miserable failure who sits as our current president. It is your choice, foolish and unsupportable as it is. In the same vein, it is my choice to cancel my subscription to your increasingly irrelevant and ad filled newspaper. Once common sense, sane editorial policies and real journalism return to your paper, I may reconsider doing the same. Until then, good-bye, Chicago Tribune.

2. Good letter!

We cancelled our subscription quite some time ago. They kept delivering it then sending us a bill. It took about five phone calls before it was finally resolved.
