I try to go once in awhile, just so that I know what is going on with county business. We always discuss county board business at our Democratic central committee meetings, so firsthand knowledge is a good idea.

There are some really nasty republicans on that board. They hate Teddy Kennedy. Some of them are insensitive enough to make shitty comments about his brain tumor diagnosis. I don't need to put myself through that, so I am staying home.

I read on an earlier thread your position on being dem candidate neutral in your jurisdiction. Good for you. I wish more people were just like you! Will you run for governor???

But we have to keep the peace within our central committee. There are varying opinions, and the voters we talk to have varying opinions, too.

When the Democrats achieve parity on the county board, and when we take over most of the other elected positions in the county, I hope we will behave better. We will not have to make cruel jokes at others' expense just because we can. I think Democrats are better people than that. (Never mind those in GD: P).
