LOMBARD (IL) — Latinos for America Political Action Committee (LFA-PAC,) representing one of the nation’s fastest growing and most ambitious grassroots advocacy organizations, has endorsed Democratic Congressional candidate Christine Cegelis and has pledged the resources of its political action committee and nationwide activist network to help her win the March 21 primary election.
That support will translate into direct voter contact with the Hispanic population in the IL 6th Congressional District, media outreach, and get-out-the-vote activities.
LFA-PAC Executive Director Ralph I. Miller said the nationwide organization – an outgrowth of Latinos for Dean – was impressed with Cegelis’ work with Hispanic organizations and voters in the District, and with her positions on key issues.
“Three of your specific proposals are very much in keeping with the core beliefs of Latino voters: 1) to move toward a single-payer health plan for all Americans, 2) increasing federal funding for education, (with local control to address local conditions and needs), and 3) changing our tax and trade policies so corporations pay their fair share and are rewarded for keeping jobs in the U.S.”
LFA-PAC (

With nearly 12% Hispanic population in your district, your commitment to maintaining cultural diversity – with three Hispanic coordinators on your campaign – is a hopeful sign that you will continue to appreciate the changing face of the Latino voter.”
We are “committed to supporting progressive candidates at the federal level. We are proud to offer our resources to your efforts,” Miller said.
