Occupy Boise protesters hold 'silent processions'

A handful of protesters in the Occupy Boise movement walked through the streets of Downtown Boise on Tuesday with money taped to their mouths to register their opposition to a litany of economic and social ills.

Six people marched in the early morning. About a dozen took part in an 11 a.m. march Some paused in front of several Downtown banks and held up signs. One read, "You are not how much money you have in the bank."

The group is a relative of the Occupy Wall Street protests. Asked what their concerns were, members complained about a number of issues including corporate greed, capitalism and environmental abuses, and the amount of debt students must take on to get a college education. Asked if they thought their protests would accomplish change, some members said they hoped so.

Asked to identify themselves, some people gave only first names, citing concern for being singled out by authorities if they were known. One person gave her name as Aly Catt. Another called herself Eve Garden. Some declined to answer the question ...
